The work Alex and his team did installing our heat pump was exceptional. I first contacted Alex about 9 months ago when Octopus had told us we couldn't have the equipment in our basement as the hot water cylinder would be too tall. Alex reassured us that he could find one that fit. When it came time to have the heat pump installed, various aspects impressed us: the heat pump design was definitely tailored to our needs, Alex fitted us in earlier than expected as there was a cancellation, the team worked over a couple of days to install then came back on two further occassions to ensure everything was working fine, Alex gave us a thorough in-depth tutorial about how to use the heat pump at a further meeting, they cleaned up after themselves and the price was 60% less than the competitive quote. We had a few hitches with Heat Geek, mainly confusion about how to pay the discounted Heat Geek survey, but Bristol Renewables was great!

Heat pump installation, referral via Heat Geek. Quick to respond and get survey on the house booked in. Survey was very thorough and answered all my questions. They were happy to talk through a variety of different options around placement of heat pump (where outside, low and high mounting), hot water tank and options for radiators. In particular how that impacts cost, very happy with the clarity here. After accepting offer the work was scheduled with a short lead time. Work completed in 3 days, but hot water back by end of 2nd and very clear upfront on how heating and hot water would be impacted. Also happy to go off-spec and quickly respond during the install when we realised we had missed a couple of radiator swaps off (it was our mistake). Great attention to detail such as sourcing same coloured bricks to fill the hole where gas boiler flute exited. Very neat and tidy install. Summer install, no data yet on winter heating but can say hot water generation is working perfectly. Great follow-up on heat pump usage, guiding us on best practices after install and calibration of radiators to be scheduled for the autumn. Prompt delivery on all paperwork. I would highly recommend them for your own heat pump installation.

Alex and his team installed an air source heat pump for us last week. It is clear that these guys know what they are doing, and handled everything from the heat loss calculations to design to install. It is important to get all of these steps right if you want the best efficiency, and the quality of the work here was exceptional, particularly the neat pipework (which was all lagged after the photo below was taken) and general attention to detail. Considering the size of the job the work wasn't too disruptive either, taking a lot of care to keep things clean inside the house and keeping the downtime of the heating and hot water to a minimum. At the end of the install, Alex explained everything we need to know to get the most out of the system. We've had it running for about a week and it's great so far, maintaning a comfy temperature in the house and plenty of hot water. If you're looking to switch to a heat pump, I can't recommend Bristol Renewable Heat enough.
