We were hesitant to write this review, but after months of being ignored, the public deserves to know about our experience. ELT Heat were confident during the sales stage, but the moment things went wrong, they dodged responsibility. Emails went unanswered, issues were minimised, and accountability disappeared — a clear sign of irresponsible leadership. This has been constantly confirmed when we had the pleasure of dealing with their direct leadership, who constantly use grand words and excuses to dodge responsibility. The heat pump system they designed and installed has caused extremely high electricity usage. We are a family of three with no EVs, yet our electricity bills goes as high as £485 last month ( even in summer months it amounts to more than £250), consistently over the past four months. This is due to a poorly designed and undersized system, completely at odds with what was sold to us. This is in top of the heat pump not being able to function and provide heating whenever the temperature falls below 4-5 degrees outside, which clearly indicates there is something fundamentally wrong with their design. We were misled during the design and sales stage about performance and efficiency. Despite holding a 2-year workmanship warranty, ELT Heat have ignored repeated fault reports for months and failed to honour their obligations. They even falsely claimed the system was commissioned in March to start the warranty early, despite it being non-functional months later due to unresolved pipework issues. The workmanship is shocking. There were leaks in almost every room, which caused significant delays to our carpet fitting. On one visit, their engineers left radiators open and undrained while leaving site, claiming they had been “called to another job” — completely unacceptable and unsafe. Despite promising to rectify the leaks, we are still waiting over six months later. Instead of fixing the issues, they have provided endless excuses with zero accountability. This experience has caused serious financial loss, delays, and stress for our family. Learn from our experience — we strongly advise others not to use ELT Heat.

Great service from Vas. Vas carried out the survey thoroughly and explained everything clearly and professionally. The proposal was sent over promptly and was easy to understand, with clear detail tailored to the property. Very knowledgeable, organised, and reassuring throughout, Highly recommend.

Professional, tidy, system works well. Would recommend. Special mention to Callum and the rest of the plumbing team who were obsessive about neatness.

I had 10 panels and a battery installed in the summer. Its performing really well and generating more that expected now in the winter. Wish I had done this years ago. Emerging living technologies were great and pleased I went with the solar skirting, over the bird netting - looks a lot nicer.

Me and my family are year long victims from ELT heat - the issues with them are endless from the moment we engaged them. First red signal - they will ask for FULL payment up front ( our payment aside from the government grant). They promise you the world until they start the install - everything goes downhill from there and transpired into a nightmare. This is a warning sign as their workmanship and work ethic are so so bad. The promised one one week install turned out to be a year long battle - first with the delays ( the install got dragged on for months, constant no shows), then the continuous leaks ( which they will blame it being the manufacturer's fault, when it was all down to the competency of their team), and quite frankly I've met some of the worst trades with the worst work ethic, which is an extension of the management - continuous lies, over-selling, etc, all to get the government grants. What transpired for us is continuous leaks from the radiators, negligence from their install team to leave a draining radiator that led to a massive leak to our GF, and months and months of delays that delayed our painting and move in date. After delays waiting for their install for months, we had no choice but had to conduct our painting first before their install, which of course with their reckless team they had damaged multiple freshly painted walls. Worst of all, they claimed to have commissioned the system in March in order to get paid the government grant, when the installation was no way near functional or anywhere complete. Come October time, more than 8 months post install when we had to turn on the heating, when we realized all the issues with the heating installation work. They had blamed Valiant for the issues where, the poor valiant engineer who came out more than 5 times to check, when they realized that it was the pipework configuration that was all wrong. It was through a new engineer that they hired ( the only competent and moral person from their team), that uncovered all the pipework issues ( including the pipework that has conflicting flows, flows that are going in conflicting directions, etc), that the heating is finally remotely able to be turned on. There was no way the system would be functional until this point, more than 8 months post 'commissioning'. In the meantime, we were promised a handyman that would fix all the damages that they caused back in June, design drawings back in March, and > 6 months on we are still chasing. The management team are extremely irresponsible and continues to dodge responsibility. The current system doesn't function in cold weather, which completely defies the purpose of having heating. We are STILL waiting for them to fix the problems with heating and the damages, and quite frankly we have lost any bit of trust with them to put things right. As mentioned by another poor old couple who experienced all these leaks like us ( read up their experience on trust pilot), avoid them like the plaque as they are cowboys who are only after government grants - the most incompetent team, along with immoral management ( who keeps feeding us excuses ), is a true recipe for disaster. Avoid them like the plaque! And Sam and Ben - if you see this, please respond to our emails and arrange the long due repairs, provide us the drawings and remove the tons of excess materials you left on our side. If you had the slightest bit of respect for your customers ( especially for a family who suffered so much from the incompetence of your team), please just get it done. We are really fed up with your delays and excuses. Enough is enough.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know you’re properly qualified and certified to install heat pumps?

We are MCS‑certified and registered with an approved consumer protection/competent person scheme, which is essential for quality assurance and to access grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS).

Can you tell me if a heat pump is actually suitable for my home?

We carry out a detailed home assessment, including property type, insulation levels, existing heating system and available outdoor space, to confirm whether a heat pump is a good fit.

What type and size of heat pump will you recommend for my property, and why?

We design the system using a heat‑loss calculation for your home, then match the correct kW size and model (for example, air‑source vs ground‑source) so it runs efficiently and reliably.

What will the full installation cost be, and what’s included in your quote?

Our fixed quote clearly lists the heat pump, cylinder, controls, labour, scaffolding (if needed), electrical work and any radiator or pipework upgrades, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.

Can you help me access government grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme?

Yes, as an MCS installer we can confirm your eligibility, apply for the BUS grant (worth up to £7,500) on your behalf and deduct it directly from your quote.

How much disruption should I expect during installation, and how long does it take?

A typical air‑source heat pump installation takes around 2–5 days, and we’ll agree locations for the indoor and outdoor units, manage any planning considerations and keep you informed each day.

Will I need to replace my radiators or upgrade anything else in my home?

After the heat‑loss survey, we’ll advise if any radiators, pipework, electrics or hot‑water cylinder need upgrading so the system can run efficiently at lower flow temperatures.

How noisy is the outdoor unit and where will it be installed?

Modern heat pumps are designed to be quiet and must meet UK noise regulations; we’ll position the unit to minimise any impact on you and your neighbours and comply with local planning rules.

What warranties, servicing and aftercare do you provide?

You’ll get manufacturer warranties on the heat pump plus our workmanship guarantee, and we offer ongoing servicing and support to keep your system performing at its best.

What running costs and savings can I realistically expect compared to my current boiler?

We’ll estimate your likely annual running costs and potential savings based on your current fuel type, insulation level and tariffs, using real‑world performance data rather than lab figures.
