Poor customer care. Jarrett Plumbing installed the shower (ensuite) in my new property built by Barratt Homes. The first time using the shower, a metal clip at the top of the shower door came off and we reported the to Barratt. On the day they came to fix this, noone was home and I got a voicemail about one of their workers outside my house when I was at work miles away. When I called them about this, I spoke with a very abrupt receptionist who told me she had called me prior to the visit to arrange this appointment. I informed her that I had not had such a conversation with her and I told her she was being dishonest which she denied. She could not tell me when she called me and the whole telephone conversation was uncomfortable, lacked professionalism and the blame was placed on me. I informed her that we did not wish for them to visit again and ended the conversation. Very poor customer care and communication.

Previously had no issues with Jarrett doing our boiler services. Engineers always friendly and the price of the service fairly reasonable. However, they serviced our boiler last week and the engineer snapped the hinges off one of the panels. He had just before this asked my partner for the manual as he wasn't used to working with Worcester Bosch boilers. He said they would order a new hinge for us and let us know when it's in. Heard nothing after that except to get the invoice for the service. I asked if the part had been ordered, and they came back quoting me £19 for the part plus VAT, plus an additional "reduced rate" £49.50 labour charge! I replied saying their engineer had broke it so why should we be paying? She replied that it's a "known issue" with Worcester boilers for the hinges to break easily, as the plastic becomes brittle over time. The boiler is only 3 years old. I called WB and they advised that they have had no complaints or issues with the hinges and that they could only break if the engineer was rough with it. I went back to Jarretts and they still expected me to pay. When I said I would be reporting them to Trading Standards for breaking the Consumer Rights Code, they replied this morning saying they would fix it as a "gesture of good will". No thanks! Worcester Bosch are coming out to replace them free of charge for us. Be aware of the dishonesty of this company, and one of their engineers obviously cack-handed!

I had a leak underneath my shower, Jarretts Heating and Plumbing. were called, I believe the plumber fixed the leak ? but He damage all my shower panel and decided not to say a word about it and left in a rush, I went upstairs to see my shower and I saw the shower panel all damage , contacted the company that sent the plumber to fixe my issue , and obviously I asked about the damage on my shower panel ... the replay I get from them was, the plumber has no idea who did the damage, I couldn't believe the reply I get ... Really bad service, not reliable.

We recently had a system boiler fitted. The job was carried out on time and as scheduled. The job was estimated and quoted in a timely manner. Chris the engineer who carried out the work was a credit to Jarretts plumbing and heating co. He was polite, considerate, kept us informed of progress and next steps. Very knowledgeable and a tidy worker. I would highly recommend.

We had our air source heat pump installed and serviced for 12 years by Jarrett Plumbing. Whilst their service in the first few years was OK its gone downhill in the past year or so. We had two parts replaced on our heat pump which was advised by an engineer from Jarrett. Each time they attended the engineers didn't seem to know how to fix the issue and kept calling the manufacturer for advice. Jarrett even sent an engineer that knew nothing about heat pumps! Within 2 years both parts had gone wrong and we were told they had to be replaced again. This didn't fix the heat pump issue so we were then advised that we needed a whole new system at a cost of over £8000. We decided to get a second opinion from another qualified air source heat pump engineer and he was able to fix the heat pump for around £1000. He replaced the compressor which Jarrett told us was not possible to do. While fixing it he noticed Jarrett hadn't previously installed the replacement parts correctly which had contributed to the compressor failure. Had we taken Jarrett's advice we would have spent over £7000 unnecessarily. Always get a second opinion if you're thinking of using these guys as they aren't the best to be honest.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know you’re properly qualified and certified to install heat pumps?

We are MCS‑certified and registered with an approved consumer protection/competent person scheme, which is essential for quality assurance and to access grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS).

Can you tell me if a heat pump is actually suitable for my home?

We carry out a detailed home assessment, including property type, insulation levels, existing heating system and available outdoor space, to confirm whether a heat pump is a good fit.

What type and size of heat pump will you recommend for my property, and why?

We design the system using a heat‑loss calculation for your home, then match the correct kW size and model (for example, air‑source vs ground‑source) so it runs efficiently and reliably.

What will the full installation cost be, and what’s included in your quote?

Our fixed quote clearly lists the heat pump, cylinder, controls, labour, scaffolding (if needed), electrical work and any radiator or pipework upgrades, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.

Can you help me access government grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme?

Yes, as an MCS installer we can confirm your eligibility, apply for the BUS grant (worth up to £7,500) on your behalf and deduct it directly from your quote.

How much disruption should I expect during installation, and how long does it take?

A typical air‑source heat pump installation takes around 2–5 days, and we’ll agree locations for the indoor and outdoor units, manage any planning considerations and keep you informed each day.

Will I need to replace my radiators or upgrade anything else in my home?

After the heat‑loss survey, we’ll advise if any radiators, pipework, electrics or hot‑water cylinder need upgrading so the system can run efficiently at lower flow temperatures.

How noisy is the outdoor unit and where will it be installed?

Modern heat pumps are designed to be quiet and must meet UK noise regulations; we’ll position the unit to minimise any impact on you and your neighbours and comply with local planning rules.

What warranties, servicing and aftercare do you provide?

You’ll get manufacturer warranties on the heat pump plus our workmanship guarantee, and we offer ongoing servicing and support to keep your system performing at its best.

What running costs and savings can I realistically expect compared to my current boiler?

We’ll estimate your likely annual running costs and potential savings based on your current fuel type, insulation level and tariffs, using real‑world performance data rather than lab figures.
