So this crowd sent me junk mail with an undersized stamp. I get a 'fee to pay' and not knowing what it was for paid it, the letter arrived, clearly too big to be standard postage with their junk mail in it. So, if they run their business in the way they run their advertising clearly they don't care about customers. Regarding heat pumps, if anyone is daft enough to get one they deserve to be ripped off as I can't imagine a more stupid idea while electricity in the UK is nearly the most expensive in the world. So a deserved 1 star for business acumen and customer service. Fair play for a SME business to try to make a living while the gov tries to destroy them but the net zero madness will soon stop and gov grants that support people getting into crazy fuel bill situations will stop.

Summary We have been living in our recently extended house for 6 months now. We could not be more pleased with the result of Miller Installations fitting our air source heat pump and underfloor heating. Our home has a constant temperature throughout, whatever the outside temperature, and lashings of hot water. In more detail With our extension we were able to fully adopt the mantra of “fabric first” by which I mean the extension has 150mm of insulation between brick and block and a further 25mm on the inside walls. Where we extended on the ground floor there is 100mm of insulation under the floor below the underfloor heating. There are just radiators upstairs. We were also able to fit solar panels and batteries. This has meant, having taken up the Octopus Cosy tariff, we can charge the batteries at half the daytime rate to power the air source heat pump and the insulation means the temperature drop in the house between running the air source heat pump at various times through the day and night is minimal.

It's now May 2026. About 18 months ago, we used the BUS scheme to revitalise our heating system. It was woodstove/ wood fire and electric radiators (no gas nearby). We went off to see someone else (on 'Visit a Heatpump') and heard the name 'Miller' at that time. The Miller people came in and fitted a heatpump (which works brilliantly), pipework and radiators. The house heating and hot water is now automatic...we just set the parameters and leave it alone. It was turned on when first set up and after a week or two of deciding on what temperatures best suited us, we've never turned it off. They assessed, measured and advised to great effect. We now heat the whole of a large 4 bedroom bungalow for the same cost as we incurred in running two electric radiators in the hallway! Everywhere is warm, no cold spots. Our installation was in January 2025, and they provided us with heaters to help us during the installation process. They came exactly as they promised, were efficient and tidy, even vaccuming up where needed. They also asked about placement of Radiators, pipework etc. to accomodate our wishes. There were one or two small glitches with filters which they dealt with promptly. Their office e-mail support is very quick and responsive. I spent a long time looking at companies who would do the work for us as it can be quite a scary undertaking, if you look at Social Media and speak to people anecdotally. There are a lot of people who have had bad experiences...this, may be because there is a difference between those who specialise in Pluming and those who are Heating Engineers. Millers started as the former but became the latter...and have been for a great number of years, covering different generations of the same family. When installation was completed I expected that we'd have to few days while the cold walls absorbed the heat, but was amazed to find that we were warm the very next day. The system is very efficient (this week we show a COP of 3.62 which includes both heating and hot water) and, with Solar panels and batteries, our energy costs are very close to zero (including running an EV)...and all green. I hope this is a glowing review: it should be. They deserve it, having provided us with a heating and hot water system which just gets on with it in the background, allowing us to get on with our lives, with no worries or work.

We needed to replace an old oil fired boiler in our bungalow and wanted to transition to an air source heat pump, but we had little knowledge of them and the usual concerns over costs and performance. We contacted Miller Installations and Pete Miller came out to the bungalow and explained the technology and what would be involved in the installation, without any sales pressure. We were impressed with the very detailed proposal and the quotation and decided to proceed. The service was exceptional from start to finish. Everything done exactly to schedule and the job completed with no fuss and no mess. We would thoroughly recommend Miller Installations to anyone considering a heat pump for their property.
