The installation team, the guys on the front line, were excellent and I’m very happy with the panels themselves — they seem to be performing well. However, the communication and aftercare have been extremely poor. It has now been over 5 months since installation and I am still waiting for the documents needed to register for export payments. The scaffolding is still up at my property as well. I have emailed repeatedly. Lisa did reply once and told me the appropriate team would contact me. I was then given a date — but nobody turned up or followed up. Since then, I’ve had no response at all. Looking at other reviews, it appears this isn’t an isolated case. It feels like the company may have taken on more work than they can handle, and once the installation is done and they’ve been paid, customers are left waiting indefinitely for the essential aftercare. Once the outstanding issues are finally resolved, I will gladly update this review. But right now, the experience after installation has been very disappointing. I don't think I could recommend LMF to anyone going by my experience. I've been forgotten...

I don't think I have dealt with any other company that has been as good to deal with this one. From the very first encounter through to the finish, everything was handled in a most efficient, speedy and friendly manner. Every detail, from the guys 'on the ground' to the office. And how refreshing to find a customer services department that responded instantly and sorted any queries at speed!

We had our 30 year old heaters replaced and solar panels fitted under the eco4 scheme. LMF were helpful from the start, with good communication. The teams that carried out the work were efficient, polite and quick. Heating installed in a day, solar panels and inverter fitted in a day. They even cleaned up any mess they made! Would highly recommend LMF for your upgrades and installations.

Just had them fit Heat Pump and Solar Panels under Eco4 . Everything started good and staff were very friendly and polite . When goods started arriving on site I found the quality radiators in the specification had been substituted with cheap ones . They replaced these when I refused to let the plumbers fit them. Same thing happened with the TRVs , these were not as critical so I let them fit those. The contractors that did our ASHP were good. The Solar panel guys seemed good but it turns out we were hoodwinked into having the Inverter fitted in an unsuitable location but it made their own job easier, they are the experts and we trusted their advise. It was put in the loft but we were promised it would be accessible from the loft hatch. The first time we needed to pair with it to get the monitor in the app to work we found out the only way to get to it was by climbing into the loft which we can't and I don't think anyone would expect elderly people to do so. Doing some searching on the internet I found out the loft is about the least suitable place to install an Inverter. I have reported this problem to them as well as the fact that the third party programmer and room thermostat they fitted on the ASHP system doesn't work , along with a radiator. I have tried phoning them but they don't answer, emails and whatsapp messages are also ignored. I did get the guys in the department that pair the Inverter with the solar panels to answer emails but as soon as they realised the problem with the location they stopped. If this was a descent company we would have at least had an acknowledgement from them . The ignoring of communications about problems seems to be systemic through the whole of the company , from reviews I'm not the only one this has happened to. Is it company policy? I personally have tried to contact at least three different members of their staff to no avail, that includes Lisa Foran who answers many of these reviews. I will give them another week to come good but I'm not confident.

Installing was excellent. Office staff very hpfull till job finished then nothing. I have been trying to register my panels to receive payments, but all I get is electric bills that have doubled. I had my panels fitted 2022 and l still have not received cheaper bills or any money

Frequently asked questions

How do I know you’re properly qualified and certified to install heat pumps?

We are MCS‑certified and registered with an approved consumer protection/competent person scheme, which is essential for quality assurance and to access grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS).

Can you tell me if a heat pump is actually suitable for my home?

We carry out a detailed home assessment, including property type, insulation levels, existing heating system and available outdoor space, to confirm whether a heat pump is a good fit.

What type and size of heat pump will you recommend for my property, and why?

We design the system using a heat‑loss calculation for your home, then match the correct kW size and model (for example, air‑source vs ground‑source) so it runs efficiently and reliably.

What will the full installation cost be, and what’s included in your quote?

Our fixed quote clearly lists the heat pump, cylinder, controls, labour, scaffolding (if needed), electrical work and any radiator or pipework upgrades, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.

Can you help me access government grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme?

Yes, as an MCS installer we can confirm your eligibility, apply for the BUS grant (worth up to £7,500) on your behalf and deduct it directly from your quote.

How much disruption should I expect during installation, and how long does it take?

A typical air‑source heat pump installation takes around 2–5 days, and we’ll agree locations for the indoor and outdoor units, manage any planning considerations and keep you informed each day.

Will I need to replace my radiators or upgrade anything else in my home?

After the heat‑loss survey, we’ll advise if any radiators, pipework, electrics or hot‑water cylinder need upgrading so the system can run efficiently at lower flow temperatures.

How noisy is the outdoor unit and where will it be installed?

Modern heat pumps are designed to be quiet and must meet UK noise regulations; we’ll position the unit to minimise any impact on you and your neighbours and comply with local planning rules.

What warranties, servicing and aftercare do you provide?

You’ll get manufacturer warranties on the heat pump plus our workmanship guarantee, and we offer ongoing servicing and support to keep your system performing at its best.

What running costs and savings can I realistically expect compared to my current boiler?

We’ll estimate your likely annual running costs and potential savings based on your current fuel type, insulation level and tariffs, using real‑world performance data rather than lab figures.
