Bit of a long post, but worth sharing. My old boiler had been on its last legs for a while, so I started looking at replacements. Then I spotted the £7,500 government grant for heat pumps and decided to look into it. All I’d seen online was negativity, but after doing my research I thought I’d at least get some quotes. I eventually found Night and Day Renewable Energy, and I’m really glad I did. They installed a Mitsubishi Ecodan heat pump, new hot water tank, and four radiators (only needed three, but I wanted a new one in the kitchen). The whole job took just over a day — at one point there were five engineers on site — and they even fitted an induction hob so I could get rid of gas completely (no more standing charge!). I was so impressed with how smooth it all went that I asked them to quote for solar and battery too. They installed that in early August, and it’s run flawlessly ever since. My bills are now a fraction of what they were, and some weeks I’m almost only paying the standing charge. I’ve waited until now to post this because I wanted to see how both systems performed together through the colder months — and I’m genuinely happy. If things keep going like this, I think by next year I’ll be close to net zero, selling enough power back to cover any winter use. I don’t often write reviews, but after being ripped off by contractors twice, it feels important to highlight when you find a company that’s actually genuine and knows what they’re doing.
