LFC Real Talk 2021-22
Entered my newly decorated premises and began to drill holes over a set of new coats including one that has not been worn and one at a cost of £500. The coats were all covered in dust but it gets worse. Protect 24 have began to install pipe work around my home and the manor of the work has been brought into disrepute by myself and I must add I have 6 years experience as a commercial pipefitter. The pipework is brought in to my flat at a level that would be suitable to then use tee fittings and an elbow to then bring the sprinkler down to 110mm from ceiling height taking it from the main inlet pipe o then be less overbearing with the box section that is designed to hide the sprinkler system. This is where my main issues begin with Protect 24 after watching a PR video from them on YouTube they state their key quality as a company is communication and alerting residents to all steps being taken. I have a botch job being hidden by another botch job. I explained my concerns to the whole management in my premises and was told it all lines up due to a final end cap on the sprinkler. This whole set up takes up so much room and the space could have been saved by using back plate clips that are no bigger than the pipework but Protect 24 have used clips that are then placed onto spacers as they are not deep enough. The clips take up a total of around 17 cms and they coukd have been kept to 3.5 reducing the need to install a box section that measures 200x250mm. This measurement does not work in one of my bedrooms as it does not allow the door to close fully and the door will be against the box section. If they tell me they can get around this by using a smaller box section then the same could have been applied all around my property. The sprinklers are said to be at a height of 110mm but no two sprinklers are at the same height with one at 80mm. The people who have drilled holes for clips using an impact drill to install plaster board fixings is outrageous why apply all that torque to a plaster board when a normal screwdriver drill is enough? The holes in my wallpaper that was a huge part of my living room design has now left me feeling that all my work and money to create a neat and tidy home has been ruined by a job that has been over built full of mistakes to hide mistakes. The foreman was receiving calls whilst in my home and twlling whoever he was talking to that he needs to get the designer down here as there is design faults. He was not even talking about my property but I advised my housing association that they should consider not allowing Protect 24 to drill another hole or do anymore work until it has been reviewed in an independent analysis. I am totally unhappy with all tbat has happened this week and communication was the last thing that has taken place as if I had known what tbey were planning to do with the measurements of it all I would not have let them touch a single wall in my new home.
We are MCS‑certified and registered with an approved consumer protection/competent person scheme, which is essential for quality assurance and to access grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS).
We carry out a detailed home assessment, including property type, insulation levels, existing heating system and available outdoor space, to confirm whether a heat pump is a good fit.
We design the system using a heat‑loss calculation for your home, then match the correct kW size and model (for example, air‑source vs ground‑source) so it runs efficiently and reliably.
Our fixed quote clearly lists the heat pump, cylinder, controls, labour, scaffolding (if needed), electrical work and any radiator or pipework upgrades, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.
Yes, as an MCS installer we can confirm your eligibility, apply for the BUS grant (worth up to £7,500) on your behalf and deduct it directly from your quote.
A typical air‑source heat pump installation takes around 2–5 days, and we’ll agree locations for the indoor and outdoor units, manage any planning considerations and keep you informed each day.
After the heat‑loss survey, we’ll advise if any radiators, pipework, electrics or hot‑water cylinder need upgrading so the system can run efficiently at lower flow temperatures.
Modern heat pumps are designed to be quiet and must meet UK noise regulations; we’ll position the unit to minimise any impact on you and your neighbours and comply with local planning rules.
You’ll get manufacturer warranties on the heat pump plus our workmanship guarantee, and we offer ongoing servicing and support to keep your system performing at its best.
We’ll estimate your likely annual running costs and potential savings based on your current fuel type, insulation level and tariffs, using real‑world performance data rather than lab figures.
