We had our annual service from Total boilers at the end of November and they replaced a fuel nozzle. less than 2 months later, the boiler broke down. I called Total boilers and they sent an engineer out. The engineer said it was the nozzle or control unit. He said he would order the parts and would give me a quote. After 5 days of chasing them (no hot water or heating in the winter with 2 young children) they advised that it wasn’t the nozzle and the engineer didn’t say it was the nozzle, it was either the control unit or the burner. The cost was approx £2k to fix, but they recommended that we got a complete new boiler. I wasn’t happy, so I had another company to review it. They fixed it straight away and advised it was the fuel nozzle. After calling total boilers to explain the situation, their customer service was very dismissive & they said that they don’t guarantee any parts. We advised that we wouldn’t pay the call out charge because they didn’t state there was one and they tried to miss sell products. They advised that if we didn’t pay then there would be interest charges and they would take us to court. I would avoid using them

Excellent job from Total Boilers in July 2025 they fitted a new oil boiler which is situated outside.Whole job only took a day they were clean tidy and very professional and have made an excellent Job.We would definitely use again and 100% recommend them to any one needing a new boiler.

Appalled. For 50 minutes of work (including chat time), we found ourselves invoiced £288 for 4 hours of work (no parts). Our proof of the 50-minutes on site is irrefutable: Our CCTV clearly shows two engineers arriving together (rather than just the one booked) and departing together 50 minutes after arrival. We assumed the surplus ‘engineer’ was a trainee as there was no need for his attendance. We were subsequently stunned to be charged for the combined hours of two engineers (one surplus to the job) for significantly more time than they were here or travelling to our home. Their business address is approximately 20-30 minutes away maximum. Invoice shows: 2 hours £60 + VAT (£144) for the surplus-to-requirements engineer who arrived unexpectedly in the same van as the engineer we had booked. It transpired he was needed for the next job after ours (but not our job) and was sharing transport with the engineer who was looking at our job. The invoice suggests he was called out separately to offer back up. Plus: 2 hours £60 + VAT = £144 for the engineer who actually did the work (though he only did half the job - no quote has been received for the work going forwards, the main reason for the call out). Despite phoning once and emailing the company 4 times to challenge the initial invoice and the subsequent reminders that blindly followed, no correction has been made to the statement, only threats to add interest. We never received the quote we had sought for the work we needed doing later. Outrageous treatment of a new customer, who asked in advance about pricing and was not given transparent information. Recommend you avoid if you don’t want to pay for hours of work that exceed those carried out. Neither do you want to be paying for an engineer you don’t need but whose bosses want his wages paid … make sure it isn’t you next time footing the bill.

A couple of weeks before Christmas our Stanley boiler finally gave up the ghost. I had little hope of replacing it quickly but then, riding over the hill came the cavalry in the shape of Total Boilers. Chris Jones visited twice to assess the job, provide a price and set a date of 20 December. Kevin, the lead heating engineer, and his crew were brilliant. They arrived at 7.30 a.m and had effectively finished the job by about 3.30 p.m. They were highly professional, friendly and considerate and were a pleasure to have around the house. They were able to minimise the disruption, kept me informed of progress, offered options and changed the original plan where necessary. (And drank a lot of tea!) Next day we had an unexpected problem of water in the oil tank. Once that was removed they returned on Christmas Eve to reset the boiler. A great advertisement for Total Boilers and we recommend them warmly and without hesitation.

We used this company for the first time in February when they did a quite large and messy job for us. We were so impressed with everything they did and the care they took that we used them again to fit a cylinder a couple of weeks ago. The boss Chris and his lovely daughter in the office were excellent, as were the men who did the work. Very professional company, highly recommended.

We are MCS‑certified and registered with an approved consumer protection/competent person scheme, which is essential for quality assurance and to access grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS).
We carry out a detailed home assessment, including property type, insulation levels, existing heating system and available outdoor space, to confirm whether a heat pump is a good fit.
We design the system using a heat‑loss calculation for your home, then match the correct kW size and model (for example, air‑source vs ground‑source) so it runs efficiently and reliably.
Our fixed quote clearly lists the heat pump, cylinder, controls, labour, scaffolding (if needed), electrical work and any radiator or pipework upgrades, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.
Yes, as an MCS installer we can confirm your eligibility, apply for the BUS grant (worth up to £7,500) on your behalf and deduct it directly from your quote.
A typical air‑source heat pump installation takes around 2–5 days, and we’ll agree locations for the indoor and outdoor units, manage any planning considerations and keep you informed each day.
After the heat‑loss survey, we’ll advise if any radiators, pipework, electrics or hot‑water cylinder need upgrading so the system can run efficiently at lower flow temperatures.
Modern heat pumps are designed to be quiet and must meet UK noise regulations; we’ll position the unit to minimise any impact on you and your neighbours and comply with local planning rules.
You’ll get manufacturer warranties on the heat pump plus our workmanship guarantee, and we offer ongoing servicing and support to keep your system performing at its best.
We’ll estimate your likely annual running costs and potential savings based on your current fuel type, insulation level and tariffs, using real‑world performance data rather than lab figures.
