Do not use, I live in a council property and everything is ruined. They tried to blame my cat for the Ash spread through tge rug in big clumps and the mark scraped across the floor from my table. Never again disgusting. It shows that all 1 star reviews are council properties. It really speaks for itself

My appointment been cancelled twice without telling me earlier, I had to phone them to know that electrical engineer was phoned offsick. Very unreliable. Was booked again in 2weeks time. I asked them to text or email me for this new appointment but they never did. Maybe because I am a council tenant and not private thats why they don't bother at all to install my electric fire. I will update my review once they done the job. But so far, I hope they will atleast learn to contact their customer if they will cancel the job, as I have to waste my time waiting for them and not turning up. I am so frustrated with this as I also have better things to do than just waiting.

You really do not know how good a Company is till something goes wrong. I have been using Denton Nickels for nearly 20 years for my commercial properties. Till last week everything had gone perfectly. But last week one of their engineers didn’t turn up when he was suppose to. I popped in to see what is going on. I spoke to a very helpful lady called Kimberly. I explained what had happened. It needed it to be done asap because of our insurance would had been invalid .She said leave it with her. Within 10 mins, she rang me and arranged it for next day. A friendly young man called Jake came on time and sorted it. I appreciate things can go wrong with any business. But how they deal with it and sorted is the main thing. This way you turn a normal customer to a loyal customer. As I always did when I had my business. I shall never use anyone else.

They was supposed to come on behalf of Sheffield Homes, to perform the annual gas service between 12 and 4:30 pm. I have had the TV turned down, and told the housing, I am disabled and the company need to press the buzzer outside and wait for a reply. But no body arrived or came no 'sorry you was out' card sneaked through the letter box. Why are Sheffield homes tendering out these contracts to unreliable contractors. I wouldn't recommend Denton Nickels to any body! If they cannot come and fulfil a contract. The resident above me had to take a day of work for this annual gas service. As always they must be in to check the flue of the gas fire! I really hope that the council Sheffield Homes DO NOT pay them for undone work. I am sick to death of this false hope. To give someone hope and then take it away is a dangerous thing. And if Denton Nickels take their duty of care properly then they will say We can't fulfil the contracts of Sheffield Homes. And ask for the sack! And if they can sleep at night then they must be arrogant, selfish, phychopaths in my humble opinion, a, I, me mine attituded company. I know things happen. But the least they could do was let me know they wasn't coming on Monday 26th October 2020 between 12 and 4 pm. Or 12 to 6 pm. Keep away from them! Perhaps a more apt name for this company is Bent-on Nickers? Don't take on contacts for social housing, if you cannot do the work. I wonder if you will sleep soundly tonight. Because I KNOW I WON'T MY NIGHT WILL BE FULL OF ANXIETY, PAIN AND DEEP SADNESS. IS SOCIETY THIS SELFISH? OR IS IT ME?

Frequently asked questions

How do I know you’re properly qualified and certified to install heat pumps?

We are MCS‑certified and registered with an approved consumer protection/competent person scheme, which is essential for quality assurance and to access grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS).

Can you tell me if a heat pump is actually suitable for my home?

We carry out a detailed home assessment, including property type, insulation levels, existing heating system and available outdoor space, to confirm whether a heat pump is a good fit.

What type and size of heat pump will you recommend for my property, and why?

We design the system using a heat‑loss calculation for your home, then match the correct kW size and model (for example, air‑source vs ground‑source) so it runs efficiently and reliably.

What will the full installation cost be, and what’s included in your quote?

Our fixed quote clearly lists the heat pump, cylinder, controls, labour, scaffolding (if needed), electrical work and any radiator or pipework upgrades, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.

Can you help me access government grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme?

Yes, as an MCS installer we can confirm your eligibility, apply for the BUS grant (worth up to £7,500) on your behalf and deduct it directly from your quote.

How much disruption should I expect during installation, and how long does it take?

A typical air‑source heat pump installation takes around 2–5 days, and we’ll agree locations for the indoor and outdoor units, manage any planning considerations and keep you informed each day.

Will I need to replace my radiators or upgrade anything else in my home?

After the heat‑loss survey, we’ll advise if any radiators, pipework, electrics or hot‑water cylinder need upgrading so the system can run efficiently at lower flow temperatures.

How noisy is the outdoor unit and where will it be installed?

Modern heat pumps are designed to be quiet and must meet UK noise regulations; we’ll position the unit to minimise any impact on you and your neighbours and comply with local planning rules.

What warranties, servicing and aftercare do you provide?

You’ll get manufacturer warranties on the heat pump plus our workmanship guarantee, and we offer ongoing servicing and support to keep your system performing at its best.

What running costs and savings can I realistically expect compared to my current boiler?

We’ll estimate your likely annual running costs and potential savings based on your current fuel type, insulation level and tariffs, using real‑world performance data rather than lab figures.
