This was an incredibly difficult review to write because the team who actually installed our heat pump was phenomenal. Their workmanship, professionalism, and attention to detail were excellent, and I genuinely cannot fault the installers themselves. Unfortunately, my experience with the owner, Ian, and the company’s quoting approach left me extremely disappointed. I would strongly advise prospective customers to make sure that absolutely every finishing detail is explicitly written into the quote before agreeing to the work. In my experience, if something is not specifically stated, you should not assume that the company will return your home to the fully finished condition it was in before the work began. We paid an additional fee to have box skirting installed throughout the home. When the team told me the job was finished, however, I was shocked to discover that the new boxing had been left an unfinished brown rather than being returned to the white finish of the original trim. When I contacted Ian about this, I was bluntly told that “paint was not included in the price.” For an already expensive project, this felt incredibly petty and disappointing. I did not expect to pay extra for boxing only to be left with something that, in my opinion, looked half-finished and required another contractor to complete properly. Had I known in advance that paying extra would still leave us with unfinished-looking work, I would not have paid for this additional service. I would have simply used my trusted contractor to complete it instead and avoided the frustration of dealing with what I felt was an unnecessarily penny-pinching approach to finishing the job. What makes this particularly frustrating is that the installation team themselves did such a fantastic job. Their attention to detail was excellent, which made it even more disappointing that they apparently could not return the trim to the white finish it had before the work began simply because painting had not been specifically included in the quote. My advice to future customers is simple: scrutinise the quote carefully and do not assume that “finished” means fully finished or restored to its previous appearance. Ask specifically about painting, patching holes in your drywall, finishing, trim, boxing, and anything else that may be affected by the installation, and get every detail in writing. Otherwise, you may find yourself facing additional charges or being left with finishing work you reasonably expected to be part of the completed job. It is genuinely unfortunate because the quality of the installation team deserved a five-star review. My experience with the quoting and approach to finishing the work, however, significantly undermined what should have been an excellent experience.

We used Jack and team to fit new boiler and tank a couple of years ago. They've just been back for yearly service. Really happy with the advice they gave, the system runs like clockwork and the price they quoted seems very reasonable. Thank you ID Godwin!
