Absolutely fantastic company, you can tell that they take their work professionally and strive to make a good impression. We had 18 solar panels fitted on an east west roof (9+9) David who completed the initial survey was very knowledgeable and talked us through the options available. We settled on a Fronius GEN24 inverter with the option for batteries at a later date as well as a Wattpilot EV charger. The M&F team handled all required network applications prior to installation. The installation was done over two days and Ian and the team were excellent talking through any questions I had and taking care to tidy up after themselves. The roofing team and the electrical team have done a great job, and the system is performing excellently since being powered up. I could not be happier! Great company and great job.

M&F group were recommended to us by a neighbour and have installed our solar panel system very professionally and all the guys were superb. Special thanks to project manager David Walker who organised the installation and to Ian and Barney who did a wonderful job. Solar panels were installed by John and Matt. A great team. All tidily done in one day. Excellent. Many thanks.

From start to finish David from M&F has been a pleasure to deal with. From our first enquiry, we were able to discuss in detail what we required with someone who understood the system and specification rather than just 'sales'. Once we decided to go ahead the installation was completed quickly, efficiently and to time. The necessary disruption of cables being installed through the house, under paving and through walls were all completed tidily and to high standard. We are delighted that we decided on the 'in roof' panels as these do give a neater finish and despite the installation happening as summer ended, we are even more delighted to see instant reduction to our use of power from the grid.

M&F Group were not the first company to quote to me but I was persuaded by the openness and honesty of their approach to a complicated (to me!) bid. From the beginning they were transparent with the payback calculations, the pros and cons of different specifications and the likely timescales for the job. The installation was faultless and completed ahead of time by a thorough and dependable team who responded well throughout to biscuits. The system has now been up and running for almost 2 years, self consumption of electricity is ahead of predictions at 75% and overall consumption from the grid has reduced by 50%. The ongoing support from David to get the best out of the system and identify the best tariffs has been exceptional, including the subsequent fitting of an eddi power diverter to also heat water and reduce our gas consumption. I would have no hesitation in recommending M&F Group for any renewables and heating work, large or small.

Amazing service and excellent work carried out. The support provided has also been fabulous. I have my batteries up and running. Looking forward to cheaper electricity. Edit: I have now had the batteries installed for 3 months and I can’t get over how neat they look at the back of my house. However, what has impressed me most is the support I have received. David has been on the end of the phone when I have been navigating the tariffs for import and now export of electricity. He has been able to suggest tweaks to the charging rate to optimise the gain from solar panels. I can’t recommend this company enough!

Frequently asked questions

How do I know you’re properly qualified and certified to install heat pumps?

We are MCS‑certified and registered with an approved consumer protection/competent person scheme, which is essential for quality assurance and to access grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS).

Can you tell me if a heat pump is actually suitable for my home?

We carry out a detailed home assessment, including property type, insulation levels, existing heating system and available outdoor space, to confirm whether a heat pump is a good fit.

What type and size of heat pump will you recommend for my property, and why?

We design the system using a heat‑loss calculation for your home, then match the correct kW size and model (for example, air‑source vs ground‑source) so it runs efficiently and reliably.

What will the full installation cost be, and what’s included in your quote?

Our fixed quote clearly lists the heat pump, cylinder, controls, labour, scaffolding (if needed), electrical work and any radiator or pipework upgrades, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.

Can you help me access government grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme?

Yes, as an MCS installer we can confirm your eligibility, apply for the BUS grant (worth up to £7,500) on your behalf and deduct it directly from your quote.

How much disruption should I expect during installation, and how long does it take?

A typical air‑source heat pump installation takes around 2–5 days, and we’ll agree locations for the indoor and outdoor units, manage any planning considerations and keep you informed each day.

Will I need to replace my radiators or upgrade anything else in my home?

After the heat‑loss survey, we’ll advise if any radiators, pipework, electrics or hot‑water cylinder need upgrading so the system can run efficiently at lower flow temperatures.

How noisy is the outdoor unit and where will it be installed?

Modern heat pumps are designed to be quiet and must meet UK noise regulations; we’ll position the unit to minimise any impact on you and your neighbours and comply with local planning rules.

What warranties, servicing and aftercare do you provide?

You’ll get manufacturer warranties on the heat pump plus our workmanship guarantee, and we offer ongoing servicing and support to keep your system performing at its best.

What running costs and savings can I realistically expect compared to my current boiler?

We’ll estimate your likely annual running costs and potential savings based on your current fuel type, insulation level and tariffs, using real‑world performance data rather than lab figures.
