Air-source heat pump maintenance. Ronan was brilliant, friendly, knowledgeable and office very helpful.
It has now been over a year since Ronan and his team installed our air source heat pump system, so I deliberately waited before leaving a review as I wanted to be able to comment not only on the installation itself, but also on how the system has actually performed in real life. Ours was certainly not the most straightforward installation. It is a large and relatively complex setup designed to meet the heating and hot water demands of five flats. We needed the equivalent of around 650–700 litres of hot water capacity, but simply didn’t have the space for a conventional cylinder of that size. We spoke to a number of installers beforehand, and some proposed much smaller conventional cylinders because they would have been easier to accommodate and install. Ronan was willing to look beyond the easiest solution and work with me to design a system that would actually meet the demands of the property. This included incorporating Sunamp heat batteries, giving us the hot water capacity we needed without requiring the space of a very large conventional cylinder. Ronan and his team did a great job with the installation, and despite the complexity of the project, the whole process was very straightforward. More than a year later, the results speak for themselves. The system was originally designed with an expected overall efficiency of around COP 4.4, and our actual combined performance over the period has been approximately COP 4.6. For a system of this size, supplying five flats and providing both heating and hot water, we are extremely pleased with the result. Ronan and his team were prepared to take on a challenging project, listen to what we needed and work with us to find the right solution. Most importantly, more than a year later, the system is performing extremely well in practice. I would happily recommend them.
