Green Team One recently installed solar panels and Tesla Powerwall at our home in Thornbury, and we are very pleased with the results. The process was straightforward throughout. Ben visited initially to discuss options and provide a quote, he was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable, making the planning stage completely stress-free. The installation team did an excellent job, completing the work to a very high standard while keeping everything neat and tidy. After the installation, Ben returned to explain how the system operates and to answer our questions. We chose Green Team One based on a friend’s recommendation, and we would certainly recommend them to anyone else looking for quality solar installation.

It all started with a cursory Google search for local solar installers, which then obviously polluted my algorithms and so all the adverts that I got across social media for months was for solar installations. I approached this company as well as a few others for quotes, and the ball started rolling there. They were the first to get back to my casual enquiry and Rob came out to have a look at the house and decide what was needed. I particularly valued his transparency with the range of products that were on offer, and his incredibly thorough explanations after establishing my baseline of understanding. We went through the how, why, why not and what ifs of a range of battery companies, sometimes going into some quite considerable technical detail. He went out to have a look at the roof and came back with a quote. While this was on the back burner, I heard back from two other companies. One is very local to me but did everything through Google maps and street view and didn't come out to see the house. It took quite some persuasion to convince them that my garage roof belonged to me... I went to see them in the end and wasn't impressed with their lack of technical understanding. The third was similar and spent more time talking about themselves than the solutions that would work for us. We are an unusual case as our electrical consumption is very high, and so every last bit of energy is important. While the second quote 'got' that, the third didn't. After some time I got back to the team and requested the technical survey, this was after I went to the trouble (at their request) of asking National Grid about potentially putting us on 3-phase. The costs for that were prohibitive so that fell by the wayside. The technical survey came, thank you to Tom who helped me put the Christmas decorations away in the attic and helped me look at the guttering with the drone! We had a good chat about everything, and pressed ahead. There was a long delay in hearing back from National Grid about our export capacity and getting the go-ahead from them, but that's not GTO's fault. Eventually all came good and the install date was confirmed. The scaffolders turned up on the hottest day in June and assembled everything ready for the following week, and the installation of the panels and battery was at exactly the time that they said they'd turn up. As it turned out, there was more space on the roof than anticipated so we managed to get an extra panel on there. Commissioning the system was done there and then, and we've barely drawn anything from the grid since. Having stress-tested it with the kiln running and with things like the kettle and oven on too, it's coped beautifully and already I'm thinking of the next phase: more panels at the back and another couple of batteries to boot. Given that the draw from the grid will be around zero for about half the year, it won't be long before the savings pay for the upgrade. Would I use them again? Absolutely. Will I recommend them to others? I already have.

Service was excellent from start to finish. The staff responsive to any questions. A major issue, not of their making, was solved and our system is working better than predicted. Highly recommended.

Green Team One came highly recommended. We couldn’t have been happier with the service they gave us. They sent a knowledgeable person to assess the property and design the system. This is followed by a visit from a qualified engineer to double check all aspects of the quote. The attention to detail, the tidiness of the wiring and all the work done was excellent. Pricing was very good and paperwork completed promptly. Everyone in the team was brilliant, accessible and a joy to work with. So pleased we chose Green Team One to do our installation.
