What started as a quick whim after the team came to service our chimney turned into a fantastic experience from start to finish. After visiting the showroom - the whole process was clear, transparent, and incredibly easy to understand, which made the decision feel effortless. The installation team were absolutely brilliant. They worked tirelessly, even in the rain, helped me move a chicken coop and almost had to remove the run to gain access, they were friendly, professional, and considerate throughout. Once the job was finished, everything was left spotless and tidy, which was very much appreciated. We couldn’t be happier with the service or the end result. A genuinely excellent company that clearly takes pride in their work - highly recommended.

We've had a great experience with Humphrey and Crockett having had an air source heat pump and full central heating system installed by them this summer. We needed someone to take care of all aspects of the work from planning, design, installation and commissioning to aftercare. Humphrey and Crockett delivered. We've gone from having a house with outdated storage heaters to a modern controllable system that's more economical to run and makes the house pleasantly warm with loads of hot water. Humphrey and Crockett know their stuff and put the customer experience first, a rare thing these days. They completed the work on time and on budget and the support afterwards has been superb. All the team are professional, friendly and know their stuff. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. They completed a stove installation for us a few years ago and that also went very smoothly.

I have just had a wood burner fitted by the team. All did not go as planned. Access was bad for them. The rolled their sleeves up and help move the fence and greenhouse. They had a night mare with the flue due to problems caused by the original builders. Again they didn’t let it faze them. I really recommend them. It was a great experience from start to finish.

If you want a job doing on time, this is the company for you. On the days of the install, they arrived promptly exactly when they said they were going to. I cannot fault the quality of the workmanship and how absolutely professional the Humphrey and Crockett installers are. They weren’t efficiently with a minimum of fuss, ensuring that the areas they were working within were kept clean and tidy as they worked. At the end of each day they left the areas spotless. I absolutely would recommend this company to you for any of your gas work or chimney and stove work. A truly reliable company.

Humphrey & Crockett fully decommissioned our oil-fired boiler and installed an air source heat pump in its place. We had a great experience from start to finish - we’re very happy with the work and everyone at the company was a pleasure to deal with. Paul, Carl, and the team invested a lot of time up front in talking us through our house’s heating needs, setting out how a heat pump could work for us, and explaining how we could avoid some of the more common pitfalls. Once we had decided to go ahead, the Humphrey & Crockett team were highly accommodating, working around our schedule to the extent possible and getting through things quickly and efficiently on-site. After completing the job, the company has checked in regularly to ensure we are happy and fix any snags quickly.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know you’re properly qualified and certified to install heat pumps?

We are MCS‑certified and registered with an approved consumer protection/competent person scheme, which is essential for quality assurance and to access grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS).

Can you tell me if a heat pump is actually suitable for my home?

We carry out a detailed home assessment, including property type, insulation levels, existing heating system and available outdoor space, to confirm whether a heat pump is a good fit.

What type and size of heat pump will you recommend for my property, and why?

We design the system using a heat‑loss calculation for your home, then match the correct kW size and model (for example, air‑source vs ground‑source) so it runs efficiently and reliably.

What will the full installation cost be, and what’s included in your quote?

Our fixed quote clearly lists the heat pump, cylinder, controls, labour, scaffolding (if needed), electrical work and any radiator or pipework upgrades, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.

Can you help me access government grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme?

Yes, as an MCS installer we can confirm your eligibility, apply for the BUS grant (worth up to £7,500) on your behalf and deduct it directly from your quote.

How much disruption should I expect during installation, and how long does it take?

A typical air‑source heat pump installation takes around 2–5 days, and we’ll agree locations for the indoor and outdoor units, manage any planning considerations and keep you informed each day.

Will I need to replace my radiators or upgrade anything else in my home?

After the heat‑loss survey, we’ll advise if any radiators, pipework, electrics or hot‑water cylinder need upgrading so the system can run efficiently at lower flow temperatures.

How noisy is the outdoor unit and where will it be installed?

Modern heat pumps are designed to be quiet and must meet UK noise regulations; we’ll position the unit to minimise any impact on you and your neighbours and comply with local planning rules.

What warranties, servicing and aftercare do you provide?

You’ll get manufacturer warranties on the heat pump plus our workmanship guarantee, and we offer ongoing servicing and support to keep your system performing at its best.

What running costs and savings can I realistically expect compared to my current boiler?

We’ll estimate your likely annual running costs and potential savings based on your current fuel type, insulation level and tariffs, using real‑world performance data rather than lab figures.
