My partner Derek and I cannot recommend this Company highly enough. Over four and a half days Mark and Jake installed a Hot Air Pump Heating System throughout our house. During the planning stage Mark was so helpful, he assessed our heat requirements carefully and thoroughly, fully answered every query we had and communicated well at every stage. He explained the process for claiming the Government grant, took care of the admin for this and did everything he could to help us through the process. The installation was seamless. What a great couple of lads Mark and Jake are: punctual - you could set your watch by them, smiling and cheerful - their banter throughout the day was a joy to listen to and created a great atmosphere despite the inevitable disruption, nothing was too much trouble. Their standard of work is excellent, they took every care and consulted with us throughout regarding where units/pipes went, etc - ''did we want the hot water tank this way or that way''. We were impressed. Once installed, Mark took time to explain the system and controls. We are delighted with the outcome. We now have a fully-functioning system, a neat air pump unit tucked away outside, a house that is warm in every room - no cold spots - and no further oil bills ! Huge thanks to Mark and Jake - and James, the electrician they brought in - also excellent. I know that this is a lengthy review, but they are worth it. If you are considering installing such a system, trust us, you will not find a better Company to fit it.

Absolutely spot on service from Mark and his team. We were recommended to use Morpeth Plumbing and Heating to install a new air source heat pump system, replacing an old oil boiler. Mark was polite, courteous, genuine, and patient throughout the whole process. His quote for the work was very competitive, and he took care of everything. We’d have no hesitation in recommending him and his company at all.

Can't recommend them highly enough. From the initial meeting with Mark through to the final talk through of the controls etc, they were thoroughly professional. Everything was explained and any questions answered quickly. During the work the team turned up when they said they would , were polite, friendly and got through a mountain of work each of the days. We only moved to the area recently and didn't really have anyone we knew, but now we certainly have a fantastic plumbing company we know we can rely on if needed. Thanks again to Mark and the team.

Mark and his team have just finished installing a heat pump system for us through some of 2023's worst weather. I can't recommend them highly enough. From the initial survey visit and application for the BUS grant, to the installation and commissioning, he and his team were unfailingly prompt, polite and professional. Thank you.

We've used Morpeth Plumbing twice now and have been really impressed with the work. Tidy, on time, great value. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend, and will be using them again in the future.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know you’re properly qualified and certified to install heat pumps?

We are MCS‑certified and registered with an approved consumer protection/competent person scheme, which is essential for quality assurance and to access grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS).

Can you tell me if a heat pump is actually suitable for my home?

We carry out a detailed home assessment, including property type, insulation levels, existing heating system and available outdoor space, to confirm whether a heat pump is a good fit.

What type and size of heat pump will you recommend for my property, and why?

We design the system using a heat‑loss calculation for your home, then match the correct kW size and model (for example, air‑source vs ground‑source) so it runs efficiently and reliably.

What will the full installation cost be, and what’s included in your quote?

Our fixed quote clearly lists the heat pump, cylinder, controls, labour, scaffolding (if needed), electrical work and any radiator or pipework upgrades, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.

Can you help me access government grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme?

Yes, as an MCS installer we can confirm your eligibility, apply for the BUS grant (worth up to £7,500) on your behalf and deduct it directly from your quote.

How much disruption should I expect during installation, and how long does it take?

A typical air‑source heat pump installation takes around 2–5 days, and we’ll agree locations for the indoor and outdoor units, manage any planning considerations and keep you informed each day.

Will I need to replace my radiators or upgrade anything else in my home?

After the heat‑loss survey, we’ll advise if any radiators, pipework, electrics or hot‑water cylinder need upgrading so the system can run efficiently at lower flow temperatures.

How noisy is the outdoor unit and where will it be installed?

Modern heat pumps are designed to be quiet and must meet UK noise regulations; we’ll position the unit to minimise any impact on you and your neighbours and comply with local planning rules.

What warranties, servicing and aftercare do you provide?

You’ll get manufacturer warranties on the heat pump plus our workmanship guarantee, and we offer ongoing servicing and support to keep your system performing at its best.

What running costs and savings can I realistically expect compared to my current boiler?

We’ll estimate your likely annual running costs and potential savings based on your current fuel type, insulation level and tariffs, using real‑world performance data rather than lab figures.
