Cannot rate Jo Haddon and Snugg Systems highly enough. We spoke to a number of local and national heat pump companies while planning and building our house. The range of advice we received was inconsistent, sometimes rushed, and in a few cases clearly not competent. In the end we chose Jo at Snug Systems, and it was absolutely the right decision. Jo is approachable, patient, and clear. She took the time to understand the house, explain the different system options, and talk through what would and wouldn’t make sense in practice. No pressure, no overselling, no vague promises. The installation and commissioning were done properly. The system has been working exactly as expected. The aftercare has also been excellent — Jo has been happy to answer follow-up questions and provided helpful guidance on things like radiator sizing and system optimisation. A nice detail was the handover pack: all documentation, settings, and drawings neatly organised and supplied on a memory stick. It shows the job was done with care and professionalism. Highly recommended. If you want a heat pump installed by someone who knows what they are doing, and who takes responsibility for the whole process, speak to Snug Systems.

Snugg systems is highly recommended as Nick Haddon, an experienced and highly intelligent engineer, installed our Air Source Heat Pump and hot water cylinder or the heating and hot water supply to our self build home. I cannot thank Snugg Systems enough as they did a first class, very tidy and neat installation and helped us out when our original installer let us down. Nick and Jo are very reliable and there was very good customer communication throughout the project. Joanna takes the time to research into the system design beforehand which gave us a great outcome - you can be sure of an air source heat pump that is properly sized and fit for purpose with lots of energy savings too! Jo provided a great final handover pack for building control : sorting out everything including the all important grant, with information on regular maintenance schedules and how to adjust the system. Highly recommended x 2. Rest assured, they really know what they are doing!

Installation of a Mitsubishi Ecodan 8.5KW heat pump with pre-plumbed cylinder and 11 radiators. I can't recommend Snugg and Jo enough. I am so happy I found them and had them install my heating system. The whole process was so smooth as Jo is so organised and looks after everything. Working with Snugg has been the most pleasurable experience. From the initial call speaking with Jo, right up to completion and aftercare. Jo is so passionate about her work, ensuring the customer gets the correctly designed and installed system. Jo's knowledge of these heating systems is on another level. Snugg have done everything along the whole journey to ensure I have been happy at every stage and at ease knowing I could contact them at any point. It was so nice to have a company that cared about the customer and the system being installed, rather than profit and making as much money as possible. The system was commissioned by the very experienced and knowledgeable Nick {Jo's husband} What an incredible team they make at Snugg. Our house is now so cosy and Snugg. The temperature inside never changes, no matter what the temperature is outside. The system was designed, installed and set up perfectly. The cost of the entire system was very reasonable and the government grant made it a very good value for money. If you are thinking about having a heat pump installed, then Snugg really are the only company you require. I am one very happy warm customer.

Snugg Systems fitted our Mitsubishi Ecodan air source heat pump back in late 2022 and they were brilliant. We are located in West Sussex. We were coming to the end of our self build project and were getting quotes for heat pumps. Snugg Systems stood out way above the rest of the companies we approached, not only in price but also in how honest, friendly, knowledgeable, and how helpful they were. They are such an approachable team and helped us every step of the way, answering any questions we had as well as handling the entire BUS grant process on our behalf (the grant was subtracted from our final quote). The install was very efficient and thorough, and the engineer took the time to clearly explain how everything worked. And the customer service post install has been excellent. They always answer the phone and respond quickly to emails. Our heat pump has been running very efficiently for the last 18 months and I put this down to how well it was installed and set up. All in all I highly recommend Snugg Systems to anyone looking for a heat pump.

Snugg are nothing short of fantastic! We had our heat pump installed in March 2022. Jo and Emily guided us gently through the process, from getting the insulation up to scratch, through the Energy Performance Certificate (we've lived here 40 years so this had never been done) and onwards to installation and commissioning. They were on top of the job the whole time and picked up issues that we had not seen coming that would have impacted on our ability to receive the RHI. The process had it's ups and downs and we were kept informed about progress throughout. They also knew and communicated well with Roost, who installed the system (Who were also excellent.). Jo did all the paperwork and presented it to us on a memory stick- a great convenience! I must also mention Sean the electrician brought in by Snugg who worked long into the night to complete the final installation. Emily and Jo worked so well as a team, were totally professional but personable and kept us cautiously optimistic even when world issues of the day intervened. We have no hesitation in recommending Snugg to others.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know you’re properly qualified and certified to install heat pumps?

We are MCS‑certified and registered with an approved consumer protection/competent person scheme, which is essential for quality assurance and to access grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS).

Can you tell me if a heat pump is actually suitable for my home?

We carry out a detailed home assessment, including property type, insulation levels, existing heating system and available outdoor space, to confirm whether a heat pump is a good fit.

What type and size of heat pump will you recommend for my property, and why?

We design the system using a heat‑loss calculation for your home, then match the correct kW size and model (for example, air‑source vs ground‑source) so it runs efficiently and reliably.

What will the full installation cost be, and what’s included in your quote?

Our fixed quote clearly lists the heat pump, cylinder, controls, labour, scaffolding (if needed), electrical work and any radiator or pipework upgrades, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.

Can you help me access government grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme?

Yes, as an MCS installer we can confirm your eligibility, apply for the BUS grant (worth up to £7,500) on your behalf and deduct it directly from your quote.

How much disruption should I expect during installation, and how long does it take?

A typical air‑source heat pump installation takes around 2–5 days, and we’ll agree locations for the indoor and outdoor units, manage any planning considerations and keep you informed each day.

Will I need to replace my radiators or upgrade anything else in my home?

After the heat‑loss survey, we’ll advise if any radiators, pipework, electrics or hot‑water cylinder need upgrading so the system can run efficiently at lower flow temperatures.

How noisy is the outdoor unit and where will it be installed?

Modern heat pumps are designed to be quiet and must meet UK noise regulations; we’ll position the unit to minimise any impact on you and your neighbours and comply with local planning rules.

What warranties, servicing and aftercare do you provide?

You’ll get manufacturer warranties on the heat pump plus our workmanship guarantee, and we offer ongoing servicing and support to keep your system performing at its best.

What running costs and savings can I realistically expect compared to my current boiler?

We’ll estimate your likely annual running costs and potential savings based on your current fuel type, insulation level and tariffs, using real‑world performance data rather than lab figures.
