I’ve just had an air source heat pump installed by Essex Eco, and the whole experience was excellent. I’m really glad we chose them. Their service felt far more personal than any of the other companies we approached, and despite that, they were notably cheaper than all other quotes we received. The work was completed much faster than expected, we do have a small bungalow, but almost everything was finished within two days, and they made sure we were never without hot water throughout the installation. The team were friendly, courteous, and professional at all times. They were also very considerate around my family, including our 18-month-old daughter, and were genuinely kind and friendly with her, which made having work done in the house far less stressful. The heat pump installed was a newer model, and the way this was handled was genuinely impressive. The team took the time to fully understand the system, ensured everything was installed correctly, and were able to explain clearly how it worked and why certain decisions were made. It was obvious they have a real passion for heat pumps, as well as a strong commitment to continued professional development and learning, and that came through in the quality of the installation and the confidence with which they talked us through it. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Essex Eco for any plumbing work, and especially for air source heat pump installations - they clearly know their stuff.

John and team are excellent. I had a problem with my heat pump and they came out very quickly, fixed it and also did some remedial corrective work to assist the efficient running of the system. Will be using Essex Eco moving forward for all my heat pump services.

I am pleased to be able to praise Essex Eco for the service carried out on my ASHP. John is very thorough, he removed unwanted monitoring system, adjusted settings on the heat pump and now EVERY room is toastie and surprisingly consumption is lower. He explained better usage of my system to me (with great patience) which I now fully understand. Elle was also very pleasant to deal with and a credit to this company. In the circumstances I will definitely be using Essex Eco for all future services.

I had my heat pump installed in August and I must say Essex Eco are outstanding. we bought a house with a poorly installed heat pump system and the boys took their time in actually getting to know the set up what was needed and how to rectify all of the problems. They spent 3 days working solidly, replaced the old system and installed the right system for the house. This winter has been a dream, a few questions and someone popped round to go through everything with me. I would definitely recommend this company for all your ASHP needs

Moving into the future with a heat pump and underfloor heating can be a bit scary. How does the system work, is it safe, efficient and reliable. Will the system work with radiators. What is the best equipment, so many questions. It is imperative to find a company that understands the technology, a company of experts, a company of professional people. Essex Eco are exactly that. There is nothing to worry about when professionals are installing the future technology. Excellent work Essex Eco, job well done.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know you’re properly qualified and certified to install heat pumps?

We are MCS‑certified and registered with an approved consumer protection/competent person scheme, which is essential for quality assurance and to access grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS).

Can you tell me if a heat pump is actually suitable for my home?

We carry out a detailed home assessment, including property type, insulation levels, existing heating system and available outdoor space, to confirm whether a heat pump is a good fit.

What type and size of heat pump will you recommend for my property, and why?

We design the system using a heat‑loss calculation for your home, then match the correct kW size and model (for example, air‑source vs ground‑source) so it runs efficiently and reliably.

What will the full installation cost be, and what’s included in your quote?

Our fixed quote clearly lists the heat pump, cylinder, controls, labour, scaffolding (if needed), electrical work and any radiator or pipework upgrades, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.

Can you help me access government grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme?

Yes, as an MCS installer we can confirm your eligibility, apply for the BUS grant (worth up to £7,500) on your behalf and deduct it directly from your quote.

How much disruption should I expect during installation, and how long does it take?

A typical air‑source heat pump installation takes around 2–5 days, and we’ll agree locations for the indoor and outdoor units, manage any planning considerations and keep you informed each day.

Will I need to replace my radiators or upgrade anything else in my home?

After the heat‑loss survey, we’ll advise if any radiators, pipework, electrics or hot‑water cylinder need upgrading so the system can run efficiently at lower flow temperatures.

How noisy is the outdoor unit and where will it be installed?

Modern heat pumps are designed to be quiet and must meet UK noise regulations; we’ll position the unit to minimise any impact on you and your neighbours and comply with local planning rules.

What warranties, servicing and aftercare do you provide?

You’ll get manufacturer warranties on the heat pump plus our workmanship guarantee, and we offer ongoing servicing and support to keep your system performing at its best.

What running costs and savings can I realistically expect compared to my current boiler?

We’ll estimate your likely annual running costs and potential savings based on your current fuel type, insulation level and tariffs, using real‑world performance data rather than lab figures.
