Having spent a small fortune with Grahame at THE HEAT SOURCE, Over several years starting with a full SolarEdge, Solar Panel and inverter system on my garage around £7000.00 Then moved on to a massive investment for us with a Mitsubishi Ecodan Air Source Heat Pump plus full underfloor heating system through out our bungalow around £23000.00 Plus underfloor system to a large kitchen extension around £4000.00 Total spend with his company in Excess of £34000.00 When he completed the work I nearly had to beg him to remove all the old heating pipe work as I wanted only the new current pipe work left in the loft ! But then couldn't believe how he left the new pipe work he installed, it was not insulated all his new pipe work in the loft and anywhere else, that was down to me to complete insulation, the only pipe work he insolated on the full installation was the incoming and outgoing main feeds from the air source heat pump into the Bungalow. All is very good while he's selling you his equipment and giving you the talk about how good he is and his company is !!! Until Things go wrong!! The Heating valves was wired to some of the wrong rooms cross wired to start with and wanted looking at this took a few months for him to come back and look and sort but did in the end .. Then we had trouble with the hot water that wouldn't get warm it took for ever to resolve, that was a simple valve in the end in the loft took another few weeks but he did sort in the end .. Then we had another heating issue that he didn't even come out to as he said or his wife said he's too busy and would advise getting some one else to sort which we did and got sorted .. Then one of the optimizers on the solar system went down causing one of our solar panels to not work he was informed straight away that was August and that was finally resolved the following June by a roofer I had at my house doing some roofing work for me .. Then lastly the inverter on my Solar system started to fault I contacted THE HEAT SOURCE again and was advised to get in touch with SolarEdge as they are far to busy to even come and look never mind sort, luckily I knew somebody who could sort this out and contacted SolarEdge myself and with my own engineer the issue has now been resolved .. Bearing in mind I was sold the solar system by Grahame saying that its all monitored remotely on phones etc. and any issues we had he would let us know immediately as he keeps an eye on things which is totally a lie. 1st issue Optimizer nearly a year and he didn't resolve, 2nd issue Inverter 10 weeks and he didn't resolve .. Please think hard before you commit to Grahame at THE HEAT SOURCE as he will happily give the sales man talk and take your hard earned cash but you will struggle to get him back if you have issues .. I must of rang him and his wife dozens of times and got numerous excuses but the latest is Grahame is very busy “he's on the tools” not much help that comment when you have no heating or hot water .. But would just like to say SolarEdge have been very helpful with my issues helping to resolve them would recommend them just not the installer ..

Very knowledgeable and didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need when we wanted solar panels and a house battery fitted. Came out and done a full survey so there wouldn't be any hidden costs before quoting to which we were given several so as we could choose a system to best suit our budget. When they time came to install they were very professional and exceptionally tidy. We did run into a problem with birds getting under the panels to which they were fast to help sort out with the installation of bird guard and lastly not only does the system we have look good on our roof it's also performing better than I could have anticipated. I am one extremely happy customer who would definitely recommend them to anyone who are thinking about having a system such as ours installed..

The Heat Source Lincolnshire Ltd. recently installed an air source heat pump for our childcare centre and we could not be happier with the service we received. The engineers arrived promptly each day and the installation was completed within the time set. They were very friendly and happy to answer any questions I had. I was kept well informed throughout the installation and the premises were left clean and tidy at the end of each day. The handover was comprehensive and informative and we are all confident in using the system. The government grant funding application was made by the heat source on our behalf and all went very smoothly. I would recommend this company unequivocally.

The service from the lads was fine unfortunately after discussion with them and deciding that we wanted the towel rail replacing with a radiator it was decided that the glycol would be added after the radiator had been fitted. The bill of £180 was paid in full for the service. Now Claire has decided that they will not fit the radiator and it will cost us a further £50 plus VAT per hour to come and add the glycol to the pump....which we paid for within the service needless to say we won't be recommending them or using them in the future

We needed a new boiler and THS Ltd were competitively priced against 3 other companies. Not the cheapest nor the dearest. We went with THS Ltd because of their detailed explanation of what they would do and their approachable manner (I ask a lot of questions !) I have to say that their workmanship, cleanliness and attitude were all great. I would have no hesitation in using them again or recommending them. Thank you Grahame and Ryan

Frequently asked questions

How do I know you’re properly qualified and certified to install heat pumps?

We are MCS‑certified and registered with an approved consumer protection/competent person scheme, which is essential for quality assurance and to access grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS).

Can you tell me if a heat pump is actually suitable for my home?

We carry out a detailed home assessment, including property type, insulation levels, existing heating system and available outdoor space, to confirm whether a heat pump is a good fit.

What type and size of heat pump will you recommend for my property, and why?

We design the system using a heat‑loss calculation for your home, then match the correct kW size and model (for example, air‑source vs ground‑source) so it runs efficiently and reliably.

What will the full installation cost be, and what’s included in your quote?

Our fixed quote clearly lists the heat pump, cylinder, controls, labour, scaffolding (if needed), electrical work and any radiator or pipework upgrades, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.

Can you help me access government grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme?

Yes, as an MCS installer we can confirm your eligibility, apply for the BUS grant (worth up to £7,500) on your behalf and deduct it directly from your quote.

How much disruption should I expect during installation, and how long does it take?

A typical air‑source heat pump installation takes around 2–5 days, and we’ll agree locations for the indoor and outdoor units, manage any planning considerations and keep you informed each day.

Will I need to replace my radiators or upgrade anything else in my home?

After the heat‑loss survey, we’ll advise if any radiators, pipework, electrics or hot‑water cylinder need upgrading so the system can run efficiently at lower flow temperatures.

How noisy is the outdoor unit and where will it be installed?

Modern heat pumps are designed to be quiet and must meet UK noise regulations; we’ll position the unit to minimise any impact on you and your neighbours and comply with local planning rules.

What warranties, servicing and aftercare do you provide?

You’ll get manufacturer warranties on the heat pump plus our workmanship guarantee, and we offer ongoing servicing and support to keep your system performing at its best.

What running costs and savings can I realistically expect compared to my current boiler?

We’ll estimate your likely annual running costs and potential savings based on your current fuel type, insulation level and tariffs, using real‑world performance data rather than lab figures.
