Wells Renewables performed a service on my air source heat pump & proactively identified an issue with my solar thermal system (not installed by them) that had never worked properly. They returned and fixed the issue promptly at a sensible cost. I found them to be expert, professional and efficient, providing a high standard of customer service. I recommend their services and would use them again.

Wells Renewables installed a new NIBE ground source heat pump for us this past April 2024 (it's taken a while to write a review). This was to replace an old (2009) NIBE pump that had given up the ghost. The new installation used the existing ground loop and underfloor heating circuits but added devices to control the temperature of the various rooms (not fitted back in 2009 by the previous owners). The whole process took 2 - 3 weeks and Paul and Ryan worked hard, were very knowlegeable, were good at explaining things (we were new to heat pump technology when we bought the property in Sep 2022) and left the work area very tidy each evening! The photo shows the evicted old unit outside the utility room door and the new one waiting in the foreground. We had to call Paul back a couple of times at the end of the process to make some simple adjustments when the house wasn't warming up as it should, but it's a complex system and minor teething problems are to be expected. And it was all resolved efficiently. We are happy to recommend Wells Renewables for your green energy requirements.

I acquired a property with a badly-installed air-sourced heat pump that caused me a lot of trouble and expense. Eventually I hired Wells Renewables who sorted out all of the many problems, leaving me with a heating system that works well and reliably. I've found them very prompt and efficient, experts in their field, easy to deal with, and very fair pricing-wise.

We used Wells Renewable for a complete underfloor heating system and air source heat pump as part of a major renovation project. Throughout they have been very accommodating, rescheduling work when our project was behind and working around our builders. They are clean, tidy and efficient workers, as well as extremely helpful. All members of the team we dealt with have been professional and courteous. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone.

We are MCS‑certified and registered with an approved consumer protection/competent person scheme, which is essential for quality assurance and to access grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS).
We carry out a detailed home assessment, including property type, insulation levels, existing heating system and available outdoor space, to confirm whether a heat pump is a good fit.
We design the system using a heat‑loss calculation for your home, then match the correct kW size and model (for example, air‑source vs ground‑source) so it runs efficiently and reliably.
Our fixed quote clearly lists the heat pump, cylinder, controls, labour, scaffolding (if needed), electrical work and any radiator or pipework upgrades, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.
Yes, as an MCS installer we can confirm your eligibility, apply for the BUS grant (worth up to £7,500) on your behalf and deduct it directly from your quote.
A typical air‑source heat pump installation takes around 2–5 days, and we’ll agree locations for the indoor and outdoor units, manage any planning considerations and keep you informed each day.
After the heat‑loss survey, we’ll advise if any radiators, pipework, electrics or hot‑water cylinder need upgrading so the system can run efficiently at lower flow temperatures.
Modern heat pumps are designed to be quiet and must meet UK noise regulations; we’ll position the unit to minimise any impact on you and your neighbours and comply with local planning rules.
You’ll get manufacturer warranties on the heat pump plus our workmanship guarantee, and we offer ongoing servicing and support to keep your system performing at its best.
We’ll estimate your likely annual running costs and potential savings based on your current fuel type, insulation level and tariffs, using real‑world performance data rather than lab figures.
