I highly recommend DCR for their responsiveness, efficiency and quality of service. I recently had a problem with my chimney and roof which Russell and his team fixed very promptly and to a high standard. I've also had my boiler serviced and repaired by DCR. It's very reassuring to deal with a company which is reliable, friendly and provides an excellent level of customer service. Thank you to Russell, Luke, Emily and Ruby for your support.

We had our original air source system fitted about 12 years ago. Unfortunately due to the control system becoming obsolete our system needed completely replacing. DCR came to look at the problem and recommended a new system. The new system was installed in April 2025 and the team were excellent from the start. Due to the hot summer we had to wait until September for the system to be balanced ( had loads of hot water just didn't need the radiators). As promised DCR came and balanced the system, set up the controls with an easy to use app and made sure tge system was working correctly. The old system didn't seem very efficient regarding heating the radiators and we were never over warm and had to supplement the heating with an open fire and portable radiators. The new system is brilliant, we are now very warm, it's controllable with the app and there is plenty of hot water, it is nothing like the old system, thank goodness. We are very pleased with our new heating and would recommend DCR. They are very approachable and their work force is very professional, all the people we have encountered from the installation team to the office staff have been very accommodating and always been at hand to answer any questions. We would recommend them.

Outstanding emergency service from DCR Due to the recent cold weather, I developed a leak in the water system at my property. I contacted DCR and they immediately dispatched a team to investigate the problem. On the Sunday, the director personally emailed me with a clear action plan, estimated costs, and a full reassurance that the issue would be resolved promptly — which was critical as we had guests arriving. True to their word, they mobilised staff and resources straight away and completed the entire job within three days. The property was made safe, fully repaired, and ready for our visitors without any disruption. What sets DCR apart is not just their technical ability, but how they operate as a company: • Their response to emergencies is exceptional • Their management of staff and logistics is superb • Their repairs are thorough and professional • Their communication is clear, honest, and transparent But above all, they are compassionate, trustworthy, and reliable — qualities that are rare and invaluable when dealing with urgent property problems. I am extremely grateful to Lewis, Emily, Russell, Luke, and the entire DCR team for stepping up and quite literally saving the day. In my experience, DCR is the best company for electrical and plumbing work in the East Midlands — and beyond. Highly recommended without hesitation. — Dr Hisham Maksoud

We had been planning to have air source heating with solar panels for several years but struggled to find anyone we had confidence in to do the job. A chance encounter with DCR personnel attending a boiler problem in our village church led me to ask them to visit our home, a 70's detached house with basic insulation and an open fire, to discuss options for replacing our 35 year old oil fired boiler. Lewis Morley, one of the directors, spent some time listing our options from a replacement oil fired boiler to a complete switch to air source heating with solar panels on our house and garage with a large battery to capture electricity generated by the panels for use during the night or for selling energy back to the grid. Having decided to get more information about the latter option Lewis arranged for a colleague who specialised in the installation of solar panels to visit to speak to us. We spent a lot of time studying the detailed information about the amount of energy we could reasonably expect to generate and the costings of various options. We rang and emailed various team members for clarification of items and were always able to get through to someone who could help or else had a returned call the same day. One big advantage of DCR is that they have a large enough team to do all the installations of equipment, the electrics and the building work and in early February 2025 our work began. Despite some pretty inclement weather the entire system was installed and running by the end of the first week and we had a functioning heating system. In this time they had organised scaffolding for the house and garage, stripped out our old boiler, oil tank and hot water tank, replaced a hot water header tank in our loft which was found to be leaking, fitted 18 solar panels on our house roof and 12 on the garage (necessitating digging channels across our lawn and drive) as well as removing all our old radiators and replacing them with much more efficient ones. At one point I counted 9 different people working flat out to get the job done. During this time everyone was helpful and polite, involving and informing us at every step, respectful of our property and those of our neighbours and were totally professional throughout. Because our old heating was out of action for about four days we were provided with oil filled portable radiators. The second week was more relaxed and various members of the crew returned to finish off and tidy up residual tasks and ensure the system was working well and that we were happy with all the new controls. By the end of week two everything was as good as or better than new and we were very cosy with our new heating, and endless hot water, amazed at how well our panels were generating and delighted with the clearing up process which even included hosing and scrubbing our driveway. As well an excellent installation team the backroom staff at DCR were also very helpful, kind, patient, reassuring and professional on every occasion. In summary we could not be happier with the way everything went and would certainly recommend DCR.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know you’re properly qualified and certified to install heat pumps?

We are MCS‑certified and registered with an approved consumer protection/competent person scheme, which is essential for quality assurance and to access grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS).

Can you tell me if a heat pump is actually suitable for my home?

We carry out a detailed home assessment, including property type, insulation levels, existing heating system and available outdoor space, to confirm whether a heat pump is a good fit.

What type and size of heat pump will you recommend for my property, and why?

We design the system using a heat‑loss calculation for your home, then match the correct kW size and model (for example, air‑source vs ground‑source) so it runs efficiently and reliably.

What will the full installation cost be, and what’s included in your quote?

Our fixed quote clearly lists the heat pump, cylinder, controls, labour, scaffolding (if needed), electrical work and any radiator or pipework upgrades, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.

Can you help me access government grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme?

Yes, as an MCS installer we can confirm your eligibility, apply for the BUS grant (worth up to £7,500) on your behalf and deduct it directly from your quote.

How much disruption should I expect during installation, and how long does it take?

A typical air‑source heat pump installation takes around 2–5 days, and we’ll agree locations for the indoor and outdoor units, manage any planning considerations and keep you informed each day.

Will I need to replace my radiators or upgrade anything else in my home?

After the heat‑loss survey, we’ll advise if any radiators, pipework, electrics or hot‑water cylinder need upgrading so the system can run efficiently at lower flow temperatures.

How noisy is the outdoor unit and where will it be installed?

Modern heat pumps are designed to be quiet and must meet UK noise regulations; we’ll position the unit to minimise any impact on you and your neighbours and comply with local planning rules.

What warranties, servicing and aftercare do you provide?

You’ll get manufacturer warranties on the heat pump plus our workmanship guarantee, and we offer ongoing servicing and support to keep your system performing at its best.

What running costs and savings can I realistically expect compared to my current boiler?

We’ll estimate your likely annual running costs and potential savings based on your current fuel type, insulation level and tariffs, using real‑world performance data rather than lab figures.
