I had my solar panels and battery storage system installed by DCL Renewables in April 2026, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. From the initial consultation through to installation and aftercare, the whole process was professional and well organised. Akhil ensured that the inverter, batteries and solar panels were delivered a day before the installation, which helped everything run smoothly. The installation team, led by Florin and Janny, arrived on time, worked efficiently, and completed everything to a very high standard. Everything was left neat and tidy, with excellent attention to detail. DCL also handled the DNO approval, MCS certification and all the necessary paperwork. I received all the required documentation for export within a week of installation, which made the whole process stress-free. What I particularly appreciated was the follow-up support from Akhil after the installation. He contacted me a few weeks later to check that the system was working well, that I was receiving my export payments and that I was happy with everything. Since installation, the system has performed exceptionally well. The solar panels and battery have exceeded my expectations, helping to significantly reduce my electricity costs while maximising my solar generation and export. Highly recommended DCL Renewables!

I don’t often leave reviews, but I felt DCL Renewables genuinely deserved one. My system was installed in December 2025 and consisted of 18 in-roof solar panels, an 8.4kW inverter, 20kWh of battery storage and an integrated EV charger. Because I chose an in-roof system, where the roof tiles are removed and the panels are integrated into the roof itself, the installation was more complex than a standard solar installation. Not everything went smoothly. Some of the roofing work was carried out by a subcontractor, and I had concerns about the way part of the in-roof system and flashing had been installed. I contacted the manufacturer of the mounting system myself, and they confirmed that my concerns were justified. This is where DCL impressed me. Once I raised the issue, they didn’t try to dismiss it or pass responsibility onto the subcontractor. They worked tirelessly with the subcontractor to make sure the installation was put right before everything was signed off. Since then, there have been a few other teething problems. On several occasions the EV charger failed to automatically start overnight when scheduled to take advantage of my cheap-rate Octopus electricity. DCL worked with me through software updates, testing and troubleshooting, and the reliability has now improved and I believe the issue has been resolved. There was also a manufacturer recall of the Sigenergy inverter. DCL dealt with that promptly, obtained the manufacturer-approved replacement and came out to swap the inverter with fuss. Another issue involved the panels on my flat roof. During the sales process I had been advised that bird protection wouldn’t be necessary because the gap beneath the panels was supposedly too small for pigeons. Unfortunately, experience proved otherwise! I ended up with several nests beneath the panels and considerable bird mess, which I had to clean up. Again, when I challenged DCL about it, they responded positively and came back to rectify the problem. And that really sums up why I am giving DCL Renewables five stars. It isn’t because the entire experience was plain sailing. It’s because of the way they navigated the rough seas. With something as complicated as a solar, battery and EV charging installation, problems can happen. For me, the real test of a company isn’t whether they can claim nothing ever goes wrong. It’s what they do when something does go wrong. Every time I have raised a genuine concern, DCL have dealt with it professionally, courteously and, most importantly, actually put it right. They have stood behind the installation rather than disappearing once they had been paid. I also want to give a particular mention to Florin, DCL’s Chief Technical Engineer. His technical knowledge is exceptional and he has been a genuine pleasure to deal with. There have been occasions when I’ve challenged him quite strongly because I wasn’t happy about something, but he has always remained calm, courteous and professional – and concentrated on solving the problem. He has responded to my WhatsApp messages, sometimes outside normal working hours, has always come back to me when promised and made sure the issues were sorted. He is an absolute credit to DCL Renewables. Finally, there’s the most important question with any solar installation: does it actually deliver? Since the system was installed in December, I have already received £540.56 from exporting surplus electricity back to Octopus Energy on my current tariff. This is in addition to the savings I’m making by generating and using my own electricity and the battery. So, despite the challenges along the way, I remain extremely pleased with the system and with DCL Renewables. Five stars – not because everything was perfect, but because when things weren’t perfect, DCL stood behind their work and made them right. For me, that’s exactly the sort of company you want installing and supporting a system that you expect to have on your home for many years to come.
