Heat Geek are very straightforward to deal with. Their communications with potential and confirmed customers is very clear and timely. Their web presence and portal is easy to navigate when planning and managing the heating project, from initial survey to payment. Their YouTube knowledge base for renewables is extensive and this projects a friendly face to the public. Well done Adam and colleagues. Courtesy is excellent. Daniel (Heatify/HeatGeek) and his installation team are very courteous and pleasant to deal with. Communication is excellent, I was kept informed of progress at every stage of the project, from initial contact right through to job closure. Reliability is excellent, they turn up when they say and that includes their sub-contractors for specific tasks. For example, waste clearance of the old equipment at the end of the project. Product and regulatory knowledge is excellent. I had many and varied questions about this project and all were answered clearly and without hesitation. At the hand-over stage Daniel explained the system operation very clearly to me. Delivery is excellent. Daniel and his team have delivered a very neat system and have left the site neat and tidy. Collaboration is excellent. I feel that I was involved with the design and delivery of the project and my needs have been met. I now have a very nice home heating system.

Mind Boggling £28,000 Quote I have been very disappointed with the service provided by Heat Geek and their recommended installer during the exasperating process of obtaining what was ultimately an uncompetitive proposal. The estimator Heat Geek uses proved to be massively inaccurate, and their pricing alongside their recommended installer proved highly uncompetitive. After the site survey I received an updated estimate recommending a 7kW ASHP, and I selected all of the available extras (additional radiators, siting at the side of the house, a larger water tank and the top-end ASHP from the selection provided) so that I could reliably build an estimate in my mind. This came out at c.£6,000 after the grant. However, upon receipt of the proposal, I was quoted a mind boggling £28,000, equating to £20.6k after the grant. This included additional costs such as £4.2k for the radiators I had chosen, but an over threefold increase on the estimate is unexplainable. In my opinion, it points to price gouging and an estimator that is either incredibly poor or geared to garner interest. For further context, I am a property investor and the communities I’m part of agreed that the quote was very poor, but is less muted language. For comparison, I spoke with Alto Energy, who I would now recommend and who also came recommended from the community. They quoted for a meatier 11.2kW heat pump and, with all the auxiliary gear, arrived at £3.7k after the grant. That leaves a five figure sum to arrange installation before it is even comparable to Heat Geek’s proposal. I’d expect to spend much closer to the original estimate by avoiding Heat Geek and not being tied to their recommended installer. To note, with an estimated saving of £170 per year, Heat Geek's proposal would take a lofty 120 years to pay for itself, while the system's useful life is between 15-20 years... Getting the proposal was an equally poor experience. It took over a month from the initial site visit, and I personally had to liaise between Heat Geek and the installer to prompt the installer along, as they were poor at responding. Heat Geek also clearly experienced technical issues due to the job being “black labelled” as a custom quote, simply because the tank was horizontally rather than vertically orientated. Overall, a thorough waste of time having to personally push for a heavily delayed and uncompetitive quote. I’d look elsewhere.

The decision to trust my heat pump install with this company through Heat Geek was without doubt a good one. Communication was excellent and every day the guys arrived at the stated time and knew exactly what they were doing that day, informed us of their progress, and informed us of the plan for the following day. All members of the team were polite, respectful of the house and cleaned up as they went, there was little disruption as a result. It was the hottest week of the year but they worked incredibly hard throughout and finished in the predicted timescale. Grant, Adam Louis and Jezz were a pleasure to have on site, the attention to detail on everything they did was first class and I'm sure I couldn't have chosen better. The install looks superb and I know if I have any issues or. Questions in the future they will support me.
