This time the gas boiler was replaced. Once again friendly, efficient and courteous staff. Carried out work promptly. Happy to use their services again.
Previously had a really good impression of Paynes after dealing with them for 5yrs+ for routine servicing and several heating related jobs but today completely changed my opinion unfortunately. Booked annual heating service/safety check 10/9 for 14/10 am. At 1pm I had to call to ask where engineer was, having been waiting since 8am. Got a callback from the office at 1.30pm to tell us that engineer had cancelled the call as he wasn't qualified, but nobody (engineer or office) thought to tell us! Cock ups happen, but this was followed by the admission that they no longer had engineers qualified to do our work (Aga Rayburn cooker/integrated heater) after a retirement! Why did you take our booking and make us waste time when we could have sourced another supplier? Shame, but this has been an unprofessional episode, completely unlike our previous experiences. This follows a significant price hike - paid £90+vat in 2025, but advised that was now going to be £120+vat, 33% inncrease!!! Onto to a new supplier!
